Want to be a part of the 2010 Cool Schools Challenge for the MSP Polar Bear Plunge?
Well getting involved just got easier with the addition of the Frigid Friday Plunge exclusively for school groups! New for 2010, school groups participating in the Cool Schools Challenge can participate at either 1 or 3 p.m. on Saturday during the regularly scheduled Plunges, OR take part in an exclusive Frigid Friday event on Jan. 29 at noon. Not only does this schools-only event provide a safe, alcohol-free environment for our youth Plungers, but it's a great opportunity to promote and highlight your school!
Parking for Frigid Friday is open to all participants in the park.

Is Your School Cool? Then come be a part of the 2010 Cool Schools Challenge for the MSP Polar Bear Plunge! It’s a great way to show your school spirit AND earnservice learning credits. School teams can participate  during the exclusive Frigid Friday Plunge, or during either of the regularly scheduled Plunge on Saturday. See below for all the details and benefits of this great community service activity!
Fundraising Guidelines
Teams must have a minimum of 10 members to be eligible for team prizes. Cool School Teams MUST pre-register to be included in the Challenge; no Cool School teams attempting to register on-site on either Friday or Saturday will be accepted. On Saturday, previously un-registered individuals will be able to participate in the Plunge, but will be considered individual participants only. On Friday, ONLY pre-registered participants that are part of official Cool School Teams will be allowed to participate.

Team names must be entered as follows:
- School Name – Team Name
- Each Cool School team member must raise a minimum of $35
- When registering your team online, be sure to select YES for the option “Do you want to participant in the Cool Schools program?” This will ensure you are correctly registered for the Challenge in our records.
- Each participant will receive the Plunge sweatshirt, complimentary lunch, and the great feeling of freezing your "fur" off for a truly worthy cause in addition to Incentives
- For those schools participating in “Frigid Friday” a unique sweatshirt will be given to each individual Plunger, in addition to a complimentary lunch and a group photo.

Pre-Event Benefits
- Concierge Service: Special Olympics Maryland will provide Cool School team concierge service to help teams meet fundraising goals and serve as the primary contact for questions and concerns
- Help creating your Cool School team webpage (loading picture, emailing team, etc)
- Support for your fundraising events

- Publicity assistance
- Each Cool School team captain will be provided with the Cool School toolkit to help get started fundraising!
Cool School Team Package

All Cool School Teams that raise $5,000 by January 18th will receive:
- Personalized Cool School T-shirts for each team member, including:
- Cool School Logo
- School/Team Name
- School Colors
- T-shirts will be sent to the Cool School team captain prior to Plunge Day for distribution.
*RESERVE A BUS: The team that travels together, Plunges together!
Shuttle Bus Parking Space reservations now being accepted for teams with 25+ members! Email plunge@somd.org : Your Team Name, Captain ’s name and contact information, and the # of members of your team. Cool School teams under 18 MUST have chaperones.
