Introducing a New Pint-Sized Plunge That is Just Right for the Youngest Plunge Fans!

The MSP Polar Bear Plunge is excited to introduce a brand-new attraction to the 2012 event - the Pee Wee Plunge! Designed for children ages 8 and under, the Pee Wee Plunge takes place in a shallow kiddie pool that is lightly sprinkled with ice cubes. Participants will wade across in very small groups or individually, providing a less congested (but no less exhilarating!) experience for the pint-sized Plungers with plenty of access for parents.

Scheduled for 11 a.m. on Plunge Day, the Pee Wee Plunge is another example of the family-friendly offerings that have become so popular at the event, and will no doubt transform the “BEAR-ly There” crowd into life-long polar bears.

In response to your feedback, we will also open up the beach during the 11 a.m. Pee Wee Plunge time and allow families and even senior citizens to Plunge into the Bay, but during a less congested time of day.

Those interested in the Pee Wee Plunge or the special Family Plunge time can register here. Simply select the appropriate option when asked to indicate your Plunge time. All donations and the registration form (if you do not register online), should be turned in on Plunge day.

Pee Wee Plungers are required to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges and will take home a sweatshirt and a commemorative certificate. Participants are encouraged to come in costume. Prizes will be awarded for Best Pee Wee costume and Top Fundraiser.

Each Pee Wee Plunger must have signed permission from a parent or guardian in order to participate. Click here to download and print the combined pledge form/waiver.

NOTE: Families with children 8 and under may participate at 11 a.m. as a group, and children can choose to use the wading pool or wade into the Bay along with their parents and/or siblings. This 11 a.m. Plunge time is ONLY available to families with children 8 and under or Pee Wee Plunge participants. If you are not in this category, you will NOT be allowed access to the beach to Plunge at 11 a.m. so please do not select 11 a.m. as your Plunge time in the hopes of getting it done early!
